Hashmi Museum
To save the culture and civilization of Dir Kohistan and to convey them to the next generation is the most important and critical issue of the time and to understand and fell this need, many educated and famous personality fail.

If we study the past of Dir, we will come to know  that when Dir State  ruler Shah Jehan denied to merge his state In Pakistan, so an secret operation launched to capture the ruler of Dir State, so in 1963 the Pak Army arrest the Nawab Shah Jehan and transferred to Islamabad . In that time there was thousands of local currency, weapons, gold and many more ancient exquisite thing present in Dir state which was transferred to national treasure. At that time the princes Shah Khisro was present but he cannot stop the transferred of valuable assets of Dir State. So Dir deprived from the historical and civilized assets for ever.

So to deliver the culture and civilization to the next generation of Kohistani Nation, a local personality Malak Taj Muhammad Khan known as Raja Taj Muhammad established a museum in his village Jandari name “Hashmi Museum”.

To collect the old and historical stuffs was not so easy task, but he was dare and commitment to his work and he had struggle day and night to collect old things. He first of all start from his village and then he went to Thall, Kalkot, Biyar, Barikot and Patrak to collect the common and unique things of daily use for Hashmi museum. Many people also willingly submit old things to Hashmi museum. The opening ceremony was held in 2003, when there were only a few stuff of daily uses, some ancient weapons, some agriculture instrument, skull of hunted animal, wooden small chairs and wooden shoes etc. Form begging to yet the work of collecting the old and precious things are continued..
